Staming Complex
Composites
  • Stamp electroluminescent materials

  • Eliminate shorts caused by rollover and burrs

  • Eliminated 40 or more inspectors

  • Design now commercially feasible
Solving problems stamping conductive composite electroluminescent materials.

The Problem:
Electroluminescent displays usually have two clear conductive surfaces facing each other separated by an electroluminescent chemical layer. The chemical layer produces light when excited by a voltage applied to the conductive surfaces. Stamping these materials is challenging because the burrs cause short circuits between layers. This factory had 40 or more inspectors, using microscopes, clearing the shorts on the simplest displays limiting the part complexity.

The Solution:
Using our Bullet Press technology, which, being adiabatic produced almost no rollover and less burr solved the shorting problems. The inspectors were no longer required and the design complexity increased as shown above.
