Micro Sized Parts
  • Part .060” x .030” x .01 thick with .015”hole and .012x .030 slot.
  • Precision Feed allowed precise hole location
  • Roll over: minimum
  • Edge quality: 100% Shear
  • Dishing: none
  • Burr less than .0004”
Roll over; edge quality and burr were critical when producing this micro sized precision component used in an artery stitching application.

The Problem:

Edge quality and flatness are critical factor for many parts.  It becomes even more important when dealing with very small parts.  If there is rollover and burr on a very small part, it begins to deform and dish, distorting the critical features of that part.   Some resort to expensive fine blanking machines to achieve the desired results.  We worked with a medical company who needed to make this part for an artery stitching machine.  They needed the part to be consistent and to retain all of the features on the print.  Conventional technology was unsuccessful

The Solution:
Using our adiabatic press technology which requiring less force, produced little to no rollover, no deformation, 100% shear and little or no burr. Our precision feed placed the .010” hole as required with out the use of pilot punches.
